I : an haditian dynamo of being and notbeing. ( I didnt work with Y at all, cant say anything about that)
X: A black letter of contraction, very easy to see as a representant of earth in its conservative aspect.
N: an airy letter, dynamics of self and I , leading to peaceful organisation of internal structure.
M: Another black and silent letter; which surprisingly repeatedly were told to have the transcendent root of fire despite that I experienced it as understanding and mute knowledge.
L : blatant agreement, unity and joy. Oneness in short.
R: Power and empowered activity.
Ok- these are the letters that made enough impression upon me that I would say they had some thruth.
I also obtained the literal translation (not to be confused by reading by essences) of the names of the letters . These results I didnt trust either, but some of them I had to take serious, as they repeatedly occured in my later and previous receivings and made sense. And the name of the letter V - Van ; I find funny to mention when seeing your work. I never got any serious place by my works on the sounds, and got surprised to see that you have got a pair of opposites as its essence; as the translation I got was "Neither". The other I would like to mention are:
K : veh, ve = just as , like, sembles
G,J : Ged = falling.
X : pal = formulated, fixed
And also that the letter O = calling forth.
Well - would anyone get surprised when I say I would have bought Patricias book, if Weiser hadnt been so imbecile?

Yes! In working with the Essence of the letter I, I felt "enablement" and "ability" at first ... it was only later that I "saw" the force behind the ability and realized that I represented an Energy-Field extending though all dimensions, central, yet everywhere present.

Y, as a letter of the English language, is used to indicate the consonantal sound of I ... when I realized the implications of I = Energy, then it became clear that the Y represented a reaching out for more energy, as a tree spreads its branches in growth, as a man in prayer. The letter Y was dictated in the calls, as distinctly as the I. It was the subtle difference between ILS and YLS that convinced me that Y needed to be considered separately from I. The Y represents increase, growth and abundance.

Contraction, restriction, severe limitation of power, whether it is willful or imposed. Barriers and pass-nots, as in EXARP, which can be read as: Willfully or purposefully limited in time and motion to be established there in that place.

As the Root of Interiority, the Self at the center of one's existence, the germinating seed of personal identity and individuality. In the Angelic Calls, the significant triads with N central are lessons in selfhood: ANA, the self as center of new beginnings; INI, the self as the internal source of energy and ability; ONO, the self as the source of being-becoming.

Yes, that is the way we see it from here and now; the purpose of Union is sharing of self. But, in the Beginning there was only One, and the will and purpose of One is division ... "for the possibility of reunion".

Activity is the true essence ... power is implied as the energy behind the action. Movement, motion, emotion, change, difference are all applications of R.

And both! Van translates as darkness or mysterious beginnings within the self. The V represents reflection, a mental process, and reflection upon the mysterious often leads to enlightenment, U. Conversely, Light casts shadows only when there is a blockage or impediment to its progress. When one sees darkness, one looks to remove the blockage so that the light may reveal what lies hidden.

K was not dictated in the Calls, nor is it found in any of the Angelic words or names elsewhere in Casaubon, not, as far as I know, in any of the other texts. In the Angelic Keys, C is generally used with the hard sound (k) with but one or two exceptions in Dee's glosses; in the (ch) diad, it is glossed either as the sound in the Scottish "loch", or it is left unglossed. It is my understanding that the (ch) diad represents a causative utterance, such as a command. Thus, CHIS (glossed as "Kis" or "Kisse" [2.24, 3.10, 3.14, et al.]) would translate as "Commanded or ordained to be energized or enabled by gathering"; thus, it refers to something that was ordained to be done by or possessed as a group, and if more specifically interpreted, by "the fourth", together. However in TELOCH [3.17 and 11.21], ADROCH [5.7] the (och) triad is glossed as being pronounced "as och in hotch pot", whereas in OROCHA [30.119] it is glossed as "ka": I believe that this shift is due to the fact that OROCHA is built upon two triads (oro), beings moving to become, and (cha) caused by command to begin.

In the first place, GD et al listed the J under the I, not with the G. The letter J only came into use in the English alphabet during Dee's time, and its usage then was to indicate the French (zh) sound (as can be heard in "vision". Dee glossed the J as the sound of I in words like
IEHUSOZ [3.65] "Jehusoz", GEIAD [5.55] "Ge-jad. ie as in as ien tle {i.e., Asian in English, gentle as in French}, iad as iade.
The only J found in the Angelic Calls as listed in Casaubon, was, I believe, a printer's error: p. 136 listed JUMD glossed as "Jumbd". I believe the proper word for the Call is IUMD (cf. 13.20).

Pal translates as established (there) at the beginning (then) by the First. It signifies the establishment of limitations with regard to space and time.

In my contemplation of the essence of O, I first felt vast emptyness without
boundary, and immediately became aware of an overwhelming hunger for anything
but emptyness. Only much later did it occur to me that Divine loneliness
or boredom could symbolize awakening desire Q, and be a motive for

A magickal alphabet should have its internal structure too. I took another look upon the description of essences and saw the possibility to group them after the astrological modes. I have done no magickal work upon this and have now only taken notice of the words Patricia have used. I ended with a little puzzling rest which I with some force (ignorance) were able to get integrated. I see no trouble with this yet, as these last letters also are those I also would like to get more described. That it is also very possible to discuss the choices I have done I find natural as 1) a more elaborate describtion from Patricia will make things look different as she didnt in the first place concentrate upon describing their relation to the categories that I have used .2) These essences may appear different; ie a superficial study vs indepth. 3) The letter system have most probably several structures and are made for being organized in other manners (too?).
